MICDS students Astrid Barzaghi ’18 and Leila Awasthi ’20 successfully completed their blind auditions and have been chosen to perform in the St. Louis Metro District #8 High School Honors Orchestra. Astrid will be playing in the Violin II section, and Leila will be playing in the Viola section. Rehearsals are taking place throughout the month of October at Fort Zumwalt East High School, with a performance scheduled on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 7:00 pm at Fort Zumwalt East. Mr. Edwin Simon, Director of Orchestras at Parkway South High School, will direct our district’s honors orchestra program which includes works by Vivaldi, Grainger, Rachmaninoff and Britten. Congratulations to Astrid and Leila on their acceptance into this prestigious ensemble!
