Varsity Football Shares Halftime with Beasley Friends

Last Saturday was a beautiful fall day for football, but not just for our varsity Upper School student-athletes; the football team shared the field with Beasley students and MICDS alumni for a special halftime experience. At Ron Holtman Stadium, our Junior Kindergarten through fourth-grade students were invited to join the action on the field at halftime. “One of the greatest strengths of our community is the thread that connects us at all levels,” said Assistant Football Coach Andy Kay. “Our athletes are at their best when the energy and enthusiasm from the Beasley school are fully on display. That energy inspires us every day to be our best selves.” Lower Schoolers, known in this scenario as “Bleacher Creatures,” had a ball channeling that positive MICDS spirit and energy as they practiced passing punting and kicking while being guided by young MICDS alumni.

What fun everyone had as a part of the larger Rams family! “The sense of community was so apparent on Saturday, and it was a perfect time for our entire school to get a great sense of being interconnected as a JK-12 school,” said Head Varsity Football Coach Dr. Fred Bouchard. “It made for an awesome atmosphere.”

After testing out their new football skills, Beasley students raced through a tunnel of football players and enjoyed popsicles as they settled down to cheer on the Rams for the third quarter. Students young and old had a blast at the game, topped off with a win for the Rams.

Thank you to our alumni, football team, and Coaches Bouchard and Kay for planning this RAMtastic day for Beasley on the gridiron! Go Rams!
