An article by Ward Hanser ’17 was chosen for publication in the Old Newsboys edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, distributed on November 19 to raise funds for local children’s charities. Ward’s article, “Providing Healthcare and Hope Through Housing,” is posted online here: http://bit.ly/1MWUozT. The article focuses on Doorways, an interfaith organization that provides permanent housing and hope to those affected with HIV/AIDS and homelessness.
Old Newsboys is a non-profit organization that has raised millions of dollars for hundreds of area children’s charities. Fund-raising activities occur throughout the year. However, once a year, as suggested by its namesake, money is raised with special editions of the newspaper sold for donations at hundreds of street corners. The project involves thousands of volunteers and contributors.
