A Bold New $90 Million Goal

We are proud to announce Phase II of our Bold Action Campaign! Phase II focuses on athletic excellence at MICDS. In support of this goal, the MICDS Board of Trustees unanimously approved raising our Bold Action Campaign goal from $65 million to $90 million--allowing us to move forward with the construction of the Steward Aquatic Center and Athletic Complex and renovations to the current track and field facility.

A Legacy of Philanthropy

MICDS has a proud history of taking bold philanthropic action to realize critical needs of the School. Our last major fundraising campaign concluded in 2000 and brought us Olson Hall, new athletic fields and the McDonnell Athletic Center, as well as endowed funds for faculty development, technology and financial aid.

A Transformational Opportunity

With the educational stakes at their height both nationally and here at MICDS, we are now presented with the exciting occasion to move forward once more; to expand our vision; to look beyond; to think in ways we might not have imagined only a short while ago.

Among the key funding priorities for Bold Action are:
  • Build a new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math facility - this was accomplished with McDonnell Hall & Brauer Hall
  • Build a new Athletic Complex for football, girls and boys soccer and girls and boys lacrosse
  • Build a new Aquatic Center to deliver comprehensive swimming, diving, water polo and physical education programs to students
  • Provide financial resources to ensure student access in the form of financial aid, assistance beyond tuition, and academic scholarship
  • Implement innovative strategies to attract and retain the best faculty
  • Strengthen programs and support faculty and staff with a robust Annual Fund

A Community of Change

Campaign donors give to Bold Action to change lives and change the world. By investing in key funding priorities, these individuals participate in a legacy of generosity, community and commitment to ensuring that MICDS continues to offer infinite educational opportunities to our children.

Over 425 alumni, parents, grandparents and friends have made gifts to the Campaign as of July 1, 2016, supporting every initiative and raising $82 million, leaving $17 million to go to hit our new $90 million goal.
