After-School Programs

We offer a variety of after-school programming to fit the needs of every MICDS student and family. No matter which you choose, rest assured that your child will be just as engaged after school as they are during the normal school day.

Extended Day

Extend your knowledge.

Our Extended Day program provides a vibrant learning experience in a safe, nurturing atmosphere for MICDS students in Junior Kindergarten through 4th grade who cannot be picked up right after school or who just want to stay and enjoy all that campus has to offer. Extended Day students enjoy a wide range of activities after school: making mosaics at the art studio, playing foursquare on the playground, snacking on a mid-afternoon treat, getting a jump start on their homework, and more.

The program also offers a host of enrichment activities that students are welcome to participate in for an added fee. Topics include activities like cuisine and culture, LEGO robotics, chess competitions, and much more.

Enrichment Classes

Enrich your life.

Our MICDS Enrichment Program provides students in Junior Kindergarten through 4th grade with additional learning opportunities that are both fun and rewarding. Students explore their interests, strengthen friendships, and challenge themselves, all while having a great time after school. Taught by MICDS teachers and outside organizations, classes typically meet for 6-8 weeks from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Holiday Camp

Holidays crafted for learning.

Holiday Camp offers activities for students in Junior Kindergarten through 4th grade on weekdays when school is not in session. Activities range from including Incredible Pizza, bowling, and movies to cooking, LEGOs, pottery painting, and more. Holiday Camps typically run from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., depending on the holiday.

ASAP

Maximize academic growth.

ASAP aims to support academic growth and achievement for MICDS 5th through 8th graders. ASAP’s faculty assists students in homework help, organization and time management, and study skills. This free program offers flexible attendance to accommodate student schedules.

Upper School Academic Center

Meet with teachers outside of class time.

The Academic Center provides free after-school support to Upper School students every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in Lower May Hall. Faculty members from the humanities, math/science, and student services are available to meet with students during this time.
