Camp Pegasus 2020 information will be available on January 1, 2020.
There’s no better way to dive into summer than Camp Pegasus. Campers explore an array of exciting activities in the arts, sciences, technology, sports and swimming to ensure their brains and bodies are actively engaged throughout the day. Caring instructors and counselors serve as positive role models and lead the way to fun new experiences! All programs are full-day with lunch included. Before and aftercare options are available.

Before & Aftercare Options (Grades K-9th):
- Breakfast Club for rising K-9th graders includes breakfast food and activities beginning at 7:30 a.m. ($90 per two-week session)
- Aftercare for rising K-9th graders includes an afternoon snack and activity options until 6:00 p.m. ($120 per two-week session)
Lunch:
Camper-friendly, healthy hot lunches provided with salad bar and sandwich options daily. Please alert us to any food allergies or special food needs on your health form. - Ponies (Rising Kindergarteners)
Campers are invited to explore a rich and playful indoor/outdoor learning environment. Session themes are developed by our team of teachers and experienced early childhood specialists who understand how to create fun and inviting activities for all children. Kids enjoy themed activities, P.E. and swim instruction.
Age: All campers entering Kindergarten and turning 5 by August 1, 2019 are welcome!

Theme: Mysteries of Egypt – Come sail down the Nile and encounter the many wonders of Egypt from the Pyramids to the Great Sphinx. We will uncover treasures of the desert and hear stories of the ancient Kings and Queens. - Session B: June 24 – July 5 (Excluding July 4)
Theme: Monsters – What is your favorite type of monster? Blue and fuzzy like the Cookie Monster or big and scary like one of the Wild Things? Come release your inner monster as we romp and stomp and play the monster way. - Session C: July 8-19
Theme: A Bug’s Life – Did you know there are over 10 quintillion different kinds of bugs? Let’s look at the world through the eyes of our creepy crawly friends. Learn the secrets only our buggy buddies know. Crawling, buzzing flying and more – let’s see what they can teach us.

What you can expect from our Ponies program:
- Thematic, playful learning indoors and outdoors
- Art, science and dramatic play centers
- Daily P.E. games and indoor swimming instruction (Note that our indoor aquatics facility allows for a portion of the floor to be raised to accommodate our newest swimmers.)
- Professional teachers and dedicated counselors
- Low staff/child ratio
- Family-style lunch with the Ponies teachers
- Each two-week session includes one afternoon event where parents are invited to come and enjoy activities with their children.

- Trotters (Rising 1st-3rd Graders)
Each day as a Trotters camper includes science, art, maker space, drama, games, sports and swimming! Swimming lessons are followed by recreational swim time. Themes foster learning and creativity. Parents are invited to a special event on the last day of each session. Special group requests are honored whenever possible.
Age: All campers entering 1st-3rd grade are welcome!

Courses choose from a wide variety of engaging activities (arts, sciences, hobbies, etc.) and a range of sports (soccer, swimming, yoga and more) to build a personal schedule that matches their individual interests.

Coursers rank their activity and sports choices on the registration form. Campers attending more than one session may sign up for the same courses in multiple sessions but are encouraged to try new things.

- Aerodynamics and Flight (AF) – Build and fly all kinds of small aircrafts.
- Cooking (CO) – Fun with food. Mix and cook up a variety of recipes.
- Incredible Crafts (IC) – Art that goes beyond paper and paint. Cool and creative!
- Lego Dojo (LD) – Build, create, solve challenges, and explore basic robotics.
- Rockets (RO) – Build, design, and launch solid fuel model rockets.
- Science (SC) – Scientific principles at play! Explosions, dissecting frogs, and more.
- Silversmithing (SS) – Metals, beads, & design techniques. Make impressive gifts.
- Strategy Gameroom (GR) – Chess, Battleship, Stratego, etc. Build your strategy.
- Survivor (SU) – Orienteering, foraging, tool-making, fishing, rock climbing.
- Theater (TH) – Follow your muse and perform live on a professional stage.
- 3D Ceramics (3D) – Hands-on art in our ceramics studio.
- Video Game Creation (VG) – Create professional-looking video games. (Campers must have access to a parent-approved email account and password)
- Video Production (VP) – Take part in the making of a Pegasus classic movie.
- Woodworking (WW) – Learn the tools for making whimsical wooden creations.

- Archery (AR) – Take aim with bow & arrows, and hand-held slingshots.
- Backyard Games (BG) – Keep active! Fun and challenging group P.E. games.
- Basketball (BB) – Take it to the hoop on our air-conditioned courts.
- Cheerleading (CH) – Catch the spirit! Learn cheers, jumps, stunts.
- Dance (DA) – Learn full dance routines and perform for a live audience.
- Fencing (FN) – En garde! Train like an Olympian. Strategy, footwork, & bladework.
- Field Hockey (FH) – Learn the basics of this competitive face-paced sport.
- Flag Football (FF) – Non-contact version of this American classic.
- Lacrosse (LX) – This ancient Native American game still excites in the 21st century!
- Soccer (SO) – Enjoy energetic scrimmages and a variety of soccer related games.
- Softball/Baseball (SB) – Boys & girls of summer are back for America’s pastime!
- Swimming (SW) – The perfect way to hone your skills and cool off. Daily lessons followed by plenty of time for recreational swimming in our amazing indoor aquatics center.
- Yoga and Mindfulness (YM) – Develop healthy mind and body techniques through yoga, movement, and reflective activities.
- Tech Trek (Rising 7th-9th Graders)
Gain authentic scientific experiences and explore your creativity through exciting software, technology and state-of-the-art computer and science labs at MICDS. Creative experts who share your enthusiasm for both technology and the wonders of science will lead the way to an excellent summer! Each session offers four engaging classes that every Tech Trek camper attends.
Due to limited availability, we do not pro-rate for one-week or partial attendance in Tech Trek.

Session A: June 10-21
- Intro to Coding – The demand for women and men in the field of computer science is booming! Amazing possibilities await those who will be able to talk to computers and create programs in a language that our devices can understand. Campers will explore the fundamentals of computer programming and be able to progress at their own comfort level.
- Tabletop Games and Worldbuilding – Have you ever wanted to build the worlds that are in your imagination and take your friends on an epic tour? Do you wish that you and your friends could tell a story together that is written as you are telling it? Have you wondered how the creators of Dungeons and Dragons come up with their rules and adventures? If so, then Tabletop Games and Worldbuilding is the class for you!
- Rockets – Build and launch solid fuel model rockets. All basic models are provided. Advanced students can opt to continue with basic models or purchase more advanced models.
- Robotics Laboratory – The future is here! With the versatility of Lego Mindstorms TM, you and a team of tech-treknicians will collaborate to create robots designed to meet various challenges. Race against other teams to build and program the most successful and efficient droid.
Session B: June 24 – July 5 (Excluding July 4)
- Fabrication Lab – If you can imagine it, we’ll figure out a way to fabricate it. From using traditional materials like wood and leather to modern moldable thermoplastics, Fab Fabrications will allow participants to design and create items that are both functional and artistic.
- Minecraft Challenge – Within the world of Minecraft campers will enjoy daily challenges and activities. Design missions and adventure maps to share with others and participate in a variety of games such as Virtual Capture the Flag. Develop teamwork and communication skills as you build, destroy and fight monsters. This course is designed for novices and the very experienced alike.
- Fencing – En garde! Train in this amazing Olympic sport that challenges both the body and mind. Learn basic skills, strategy, footwork and blade work techniques. Training includes supervised bouts, games and other fun ways to build individual skill. Equipment rental included.
- Forensics – Solve a mystery or two as you explore the world of forensic science. Collect and analyze fingerprints, hair and (fake) blood samples. Examine handwriting and fiber samples and learn to preserve a crime scene as you figure out “who dunnit.”
Session C: July 8-19
- Engineering Challenge – Learn and apply some of the key principles of Engineering as you build your solutions to a variety of challenges. Put your creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to the test in this exciting new course!
- Sculpture and Digital Design – Combine your 3-D artistic talent in the real-world with digital tools and creative software to design a series of companion pieces’ worthy of a virtual art gallery.
- Survivor – Strengthen your real-world survival skills through basic orienteering, foraging, tool making, and fishing. Work in teams to overcome challenges that you could face in the wild. Enjoy scavenger hunts, rock climbing, fishing, a cookout and more! So much fun you’ll never want to be rescued.
- Garage Band – Turn your computer into a recording studio and get ready to produce music like the pros. Whether you are an accomplished musician or have never picked up an instrument, you’ll be creating, performing and recording music in no time.
- Summer Stock Theater (Rising 7th-12th Graders)
MICDS Summer Stock Theater is a specialized program focused on theatre (acting skills, production assistance and performance). The program is open to new and experienced actors and tech crew. We welcome campers who are interested solely in the technical sides of the theater. All campers wishing to act are given a role.
Age: Campers entering 7th-12th grades are welcome!

- Cost: $675 (includes lunch)
- Breakfast Club: $135 per three-week session (Available for those entering 7th-9th grade.)
- Aftercare cost: $180 per three-week session (Available for those entering 7th-9th grade.)

What to expect from the Summer Stock Theater program:
- New and experienced actors and those interested in tech/crew
- Non-musical, live evening performance
- All campers wishing to act will be given a role
- Professional director in a state-of-the-art theater setting
- Workshops explore various aspects of acting and theater production
- Master classes in varous aspects of theatre
Work with an experienced director to build a non-musical production in our professional theater facilities. Daily acting workshops will challenge you to stretch your imagination, build your performance skills and collaborate with your fellow actors. There are two performances on the final day of camp: a dress rehearsal for a live audience of Pegasus campers and other guests, and an evening performance for family and friends.
All campers wishing to act in the final production are guaranteed a role. Casting decisions are made by our director and may include auditioning. Campers will learn auditioning techniques early in the session.
Note: Due to limited space, we do not offer discounted rates for partial attendance.
- Enrollment Policies & Payment
- Programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A multiple-camper discount is applied for three or more siblings who attend a full session together.
- The full payment is due for each camper upon enrollment. Payment can be made via credit card, check or an electronic funds transfer (e-check).

ATTN: Pegasus- Contact the Pegasus office if you are having trouble working around vacations or other summer experiences. One-week pro-rated attendance is an option for many of our programs at 60% of the full price.
- Refund Policies
- Full refunds are available through April 2019.
- During May, a $50 fee per session per child is applied to refunds.
- Beginning June 3, there are no refunds.

- Pegasus Staff
Pegasus takes pride in its dedicated, award-winning teaching staff who are talented and caring professional educators and coaches as well as artists. In addition, we carefully select high school and college students as counselors based on their experience, talents and positive energy with kids. We work closely with our teachers and counselors to build an inviting environment where children are encouraged to engage in new and fun experiences. Our staff is committed to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
- Camp Nurse
Our staff nurse provides care to our campers during the regular camp day and assists with training our staff. Our nursing staff welcomes your questions. Please contact the nurse early in the enrollment process to make arrangements for handling any special medical conditions and/or the distribution of medication during the camp day. Please have all health-related forms turned in by June 1. If your child will need to take any form of medication at camp, please read our Medication Procedure Policy and complete the MEDICATION AUTHORIZATION FORM to be turned in by June 1.

Availability for the entire 7 weeks is not a must. However, we require that you communicate any conflicts accurately and promptly as you become aware of them. Please note: background checks and reference checks need to be completed prior to becoming an employee.
Our first deadline for applications is Feb 16, but we continue to accept and review applications after that date. We aim to have all positions filled by early April. However, changes in enrollment or staff availability can lead to additional hiring throughout the Spring.

A limited number of these positions are open each year to students who are completing 9th or 10th Grades prior to the start of camp. Associate Counselors are paid employees who serve to assist in our camp office and anywhere that campers and staff can be found.
