As our students and their families return to campus next week, you will notice that construction is underway on the squash courts project adjacent to the McDonnell Athletic Center (MAC). We are grateful for the determination, generosity and vision of the donors that are making this addition to our campus possible. Please be assured that we have selected vendors who are most mindful of any safety and traffic concerns posed by construction so close to our playground, fitness and instructional areas. We are working closely with them to keep the area safe and all disruptions to a minimum.
As we announced last spring, the new facility will include five squash courts and construction should be complete by early 2011. We are excited about the launch of both a competitive squash program for boys and girls and this addition to our physical education curriculum. Our student athletes will benefit enormously from access to the new state-of-the-art facility.
