May Day Weather Planning

We are monitoring the weather forecast for this weekend very closely. To give you as much advance notice as possible, we will share a decision here about whether May Day will be held on Saturday or Sunday by Friday, May 2, at 2 p.m. In the event that May Day is postponed, it will be held on Sunday, May 4, at 5 p.m. We look forward to celebrating the May Day participants in the Class of 2025.

Students browse at the first Middle School Book Fair

First Ever Middle School Book Fair

The Middle School held its first-ever Scholastic Book Fair this week. Students browsed popular books from Neil deGrasse Tyson’s, Star Talk: Abridged Edition to the upcoming Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway, which hits stands on November 7.

Middle School Librarian Laura Matheny said, “The goal of the book fair is to inspire a passion for reading. Many MICDS students read for fun, which is great, and we want to ensure that their collection of books is ever expanding and diversifying, not just at the MICDS library but also in their homes. Our goal was to sell 500 books, and we met that goal. We are excited about that and enthused that next year will get even more books into our students’ hands.”

There is still time to purchase books and encourage a love of reading. Online shopping continues until November 5 at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/micds.
