January Nutrition Update

This Month’s #BeatsbyFlik: 1950s
There are few things that connect with one’s passion like food and music. This year, we decided to bring them together in our program, #BeatsbyFlik. Last semester, we explored the musical cultures of Country, Pop, Rock and Roll, Jazz, and Broadway. This semester, we’re kicking off the new year with a visit back in time to a distinguished decade. Please join us on Monday, January 23rd in the upper school or Tuesday, January 24th in the middle school/lower school for a special 1950s themed meal in the dining hall. We hope everyone partakes in our themed day by wearing their finest poodle skirt or leather jacket. But please, leave your roller skates at home.

#VegRev: Cauliflower
Our Veggie Revolution program focuses on veggies and introduces recipes and new ways to incorporate seasonal fresh vegetables into our diets. This January, we’re taking cauliflower, an underrated superfood, and showcasing the different ways it can be enjoyed. Be sure to tell your student to grab a sample, as well as a recipe card, for this month’s tasting of Grilled Cauliflower Steaks with Raisin Sauce.

As always, you can find all the details on our programming, our current menu, and additional nutrition resources on our school dining site:
