Next Head of School Jay Rainey Receives a Warm MICDS Welcome During Visit

Our next Head of School, Jay Rainey, visited MICDS on Monday and had the opportunity to meet and engage in discussion with parents, faculty, staff and students in each division. The Rainey family, including his wife Ruth and two children, also spent time orienting to St. Louis and MICDS. The MICDS community gave Mr. Rainey and his family a warm welcome!

Please enjoy the highlight video below which includes Mr. Rainey’s remarks to parents during the afternoon session, along with images throughout the day.

Mr. Rainey will succeed Lisa Lyle as MICDS’ next Head of School, effective July 1, 2019. Mr. Rainey comes to MICDS from Randolph School, a K-12 independent school with 950 students, where he has served as Head of School since 2014. Prior to Randolph School, Mr. Rainey spent 12 years at Norfolk Academy, where he served as a math and English teacher, coach and college counselor before being promoted to Director of Studies and ultimately, Assistant Head for Academic Affairs.
