Speaker to Address Dangers of Concussion and Brain Trauma in Athletes

Reminder!  Tonight, Thursday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m. in Danforth Chapel, Chris Nowinski, the author of Head Games – Football’s Concussion Crisis will speak to MICDS students and address the increasing concerns surrounding concussions in sports.

On Thursday, August 12, at 6:00 p.m. in Danforth Chapel, Chris Nowinski, the author of Head Games – Football’s Concussion Crisis will speak to MICDS students and address the increasing concerns surrounding concussions in sports.

Mr. Nowinski is a former All-Ivy League football player at Harvard and World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar, whose career was cut short in 2003 by multiple concussions.

Mr. Nowinski’s presentation will illustrate the extent of the sports concussion crisis and highlight ways to eliminate the burden of concussion-related brain damage.  He will share his personal experience as well as the emerging evidence of long-term effects of concussions.
