Coxswain Andrew Li ’28 and his rowing team won a silver medal in the Men’s 2nd Varsity 4+ group at the 2025 Black Haxton Fall Regatta in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, October 25. There were 16 boats in total in the group. Each boat went through the course of 5,000 meters on the Griggs Reservoir and compared times. Li’s team won second place with a time of 17:03.8!

This is the fourth season for Li to practice with St. Louis Rowing Club at Creve Coeur Lake. The regatta is the second one for the 2025-26 season that the club has planned to compete in. The medal shows the leadership of Li and the great teamwork and perseverance of the team. Way to go, Andrew!

Over 50 Costumes Donated in Down to Earth's Halloween Costume Drive

The Upper School environmental club, Down to Earth, organized a Halloween Costume Drive from October 20-27. Rams in all three divisions dropped off costumes to give back to the community since the costumes were donated to Goodwill. The donations also helped reduce waste since the costumes were recycled and used again. Down to Earth Co-head Siboney Oviedo-Gray ’26 shared, “We received 56 donations from several faculty and students. I confirmed with Goodwill that these would be available for purchase before the 31st, and they told me that Halloween is their most successful event of the year!”

Happy Halloween, all!

Dr. Powell-Walker Presents at School Social Work Association of Missouri St. Louis Region Fall Conference

Last Friday, October 24, our very own Dr. Sheila Powell-Walker, Director of Student Support, presented a three-hour session at the School Social Work Association of Missouri St. Louis Region Fall Conference held at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her session was entitled “Creating An Ecosystem of Hope: School Social Workers, Lighting the Way.”

Through interactive discussions, Dr. Powell-Walker highlighted the critically important role of school social workers in creating equitable learning environments that ensure the success of all learners. She led participants in discussing and exploring optimal conditions for student learning and healthy social and emotional development. They confronted and problem-solved around the internal and external barriers faced in their daily work with members of the school community. Also, they considered and embraced the role of school social workers in advocating for the sustainable change that benefits the most vulnerable learners.

Way to go, Dr. Powell-Walker!
