Zaire Harrell '22 Scores 1,000 Points & Counting

Put your hands together for Zaire Harrell ’22 who has officially reached the 1,000 point mark during her impressive MICDS basketball career.

Reflecting on this achievement, she said, “I just want to first express how thankful I am to my family for supporting me during this long journey. I have been pushing through so many obstacles in my high school career and the hard work is finally paying off. Through COVID, two significant injuries, and balancing the rigor of school, I was so overwhelmed with joy to reach this goal of 1,000 career points! Coach Small, Coach G, Coach Moore, and my teammates mean so much more to me than just people I play basketball with; everyone is family. I love my sisters so much and can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out. Accomplishments like this make me realize how special it is to be a Ram. Thank you everyone for celebrating this victory with me!”

Girls Basketball Head Coach Scott Small added, “Besides being a tremendous person, Zaire is a fierce competitor and one of the best defensive players in the area. That she is able to combine that effort with an offensive prowess that got her to this pinnacle is a testament to the basketball player she is.”

Way to go, Zaire!
