Katharine Mikulec ‘22 Qualifies for State Golf Tournament
Congratulations to Katharine Mikulec ’22 on qualifying for the Girls Golf state championship. At the recent District 2 tournament, she powered through one of the top rounds in challenging conditions and weather! Way to go, Katharine!

Girls Varsity Tennis Advances to Final Four
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Tennis Team on defeating perennial powerhouse Columbia, Rock Bridge (5-0) at the Class 3 state semifinalist competition on October 12. Rock Bridge came into the match against the Rams with a 21-3 record and finished last season in 4th place in the Class 3 State Team Championships. In doubles, Bennett Baur ’25 and Stella Kreisel ’23 held strong in a back and forth match, ultimately taking a 3-0 lead. In singles, Rachel Li ’24 and Journee White ’22 defeated their opponents to lead MICDS to the final win. As a result, the team will advance to the state final four in Springfield.
Currently, in State Doubles action, Mikaela Mikulec ’24 and Rachel are competing today. On Thursday, they won the first round (4-6,6-2,10-7), fell the semis (6-3, 4-6, 8-10), but bounced back (6-0, 6-0) in the next round! Mikulec and Li are back on the court today, Friday, October 15!
The Team State event is next Saturday, October 23. Girls Tennis is going to be competing in its first-ever Class 3 Final Four with the top-rated schools in the state. They will be playing Park Hill High School in the semifinals out of the Kansas City area. Park Hill has a record of 16-1 and will be a strong opponent for the Rams.

Varsity Football Wins Metro League Conference Championship
Congratulations to the MICDS Rams Varsity Football Team on clinching the Metro League Conference title after their recent 44-7 win over Lutheran South. The Rams have raced to a 7-0 record this season and have their eyes on the Class 4 District 3 state championship.
