Student Standouts: Girls Tennis Heads to State and Boys Swimming Achievements

Girls Tennis Takes District and Heads to State
Congrats to the MICDS Girls Tennis team on their recent wins at district matches. Journee White ’22 and Chelsey Nwamu ’23 took 3rd and Mikaela Mikulec ’24 and Rachel Li ’24 took 2nd in a hard-fought match against Visitation. Also at the Visitation match, Stella Kreisel ’23 finished 3rd in singles, winning against teammate Bennett Baur ’25.
In the Class 3 District 2 Tournament, the Rams earned a district title against defending state champion, John Burroughs. In doubles, White and Baur were victorious, and in singles, the Rams gained wins from White and Kreisel which set the stage for Nwamu to clinch the matchup. Boys Swimming Successes
MICDS Boys Swimming placed 3rd at the recent Lindbergh Invitational. The team took home the 200m Medley Relay and the 200m Freestyle Relay. Lee Naber ’22 placed first in the 200m Freestyle, and Jeffrey Ge ’24 took first place in the 100m Breaststroke. At a recent competition at Chaminade, MICDS won the meet, and Naber broke the school record in the 500m Freestyle with a time of 4:32:47. Congratulations on superior swims, Rams!
