World Languages Students Excel on National Exams

Every year, MICDS World Languages students earn high scores on national exams in their language of study.

Congratulations to the following MICDS students for their excellent performance on the National Spanish Examinations.

“Attaining a medal mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 157,000 students participating in 2016.”

The following students volunteered to take the NSE and earned medals in their respective categories this year.

National French Contest
The National French Contest/Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.

Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for prizes.
Upper School students Elizabeth Hughes, Ana Valespir, Binxuan Zhang, Megha Sanjay and Caroline Peluso also earned bronze medals. Elizabeth also won a Barnes & Noble gift card for being in the top 10 for the St. Louis Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French.

8th graders CeCe Cohen and Lauren Goldberg earned silver medals for the performance on the National French Contest.
