In front of an enthusiastic crowd, we held our annual MICDS finals for the National Geographic GeoBee in Mary Eliot Chapel. The National Geographic GeoBee competition is designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Students in 4th through 8th grades from nearly 10,000 schools across the United States compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee for a chance to win college scholarships and to be named the National Geographic GeoBee Champion.
New this year, we included 4th graders in the competition, so every student 4th-8th grade participated. At today’s finals, the following two students from each class competed.

A round of applause goes to Logan Donnelly ’23 for winning the MICDS GeoBee! He is advancing to the next level of competition where he’ll take an online state qualifying test. Depending on the results, he may get an invitation to the state competition in late March.
