MICDS Spring Sports Postseason Updates

Boys GolfThe MICDS varsity boys golf team shot a combined score of 617 on Monday and Tuesday at Sedalia, besting Cape Notre Dame by three strokes to claim the 2013 MSHSAA Class 3 State Boys Golf Championship! The team was led by Andrew Lilly’s ’16 72-73-145, which earned him a medal as the 2nd-place individual finisher. The rest of the participants in the state tournament were Sohil Desai ’13 (t-18th), Michael O’Keefe ’16 (t-25th), Brian Trelstad ’14 (t-28th), and Blake Adamson ’14 (t-74th). The state championship is the sixth boys golf championship in the school’s history and the first since 2006. Congratulations to Coach Ron Holtman and the entire boys golf team!

 
Girls SoccerThe Varsity Girls’ Soccer team defeated Clayton, 1-0, in a district semifinal contest on May 14 and concluded its season against Incarnate Word with a 2-0 loss in the district championship game. Congratulations to Coach Black and the girls on a fantastic season!
 
BaseballThe Varsity Baseball Team ended its season with a 10-7 victory over Burroughs at Busch Stadium on May 16.
 
Boys LacrosseThe Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse began postseason play with a 7-6 victory over O’Fallon Township on May 16.
 
Girls LacrosseGirls’ Lacrosse defeated Eureka 14-9 to advance to the MSLA Championship game versus Ursuline on Saturday, May 18. Good luck Rams!
Boys and Girls TrackLast Saturday, the Varsity Girls’ Track Team captured first place in the Class 3, District 2 meet. The Varsity Boys Track Team took home the second place hardware from its half of the Class 3, District 2 meet. Both varsity track squads will participate in the MSHSAA Class 3, Sectional 1 meet at MICDS on Saturday, May 18. Field events begin at 11:00 a.m. and running events begin at noon. Boys TennisThe Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team emerged from the MSHSAA Class 1, District 5 bracket as District Champions! The team competes in the sectional round at Fulton at 9:00 am on May 18. A victory at 9:00 moves them into the quarterfinal round, also at Fulton on May 18, at 1:00.
Joseph McAllister ’16 claimed first place in the district’s singles bracket and the doubles team of Tyler ’16 and Geoffrey Raclin ’14 was runner-up in the doubles bracket. Those finishes allow those individuals to advance to the next round of singles and doubles competition in MSHSAA Class 1 postseason action.
Water PoloTommy Stupp ’14 was voted unanimous Gateway North Conference MVP and Player of the Year. Tommy, Ellis Brown ’13 and Lunsford Schock ’13 all earned 1st Team, All-District Honors. Sean Gallagher ’13 and Max Bernstein ’15 earned 2nd Team, All-District Honors, and Jimmy DesPain ’13 earned 2nd Team, Deep Goal Honors. For the full list of honorees, click here.
